Default Hit 3000 miles yesterday

I put on a new Dunlop 606 rear tire this weekend. To test it out I rode tripped it out to the Maumee State Forest in NW Ohio. The trails were too much sand for me and I immediately laid the bike down. On my way home the odometer hit 3000 miles. It made me think about when I first bought the bike.

I found my 2009 KLX250S on a used car lot. It had 380 miles on it when I bought it in 2010! $3000 later she was mine. Pretty sweet deal huh?

Sweeeeeeeeet.
Thats a very gear deal. Imho, it's basically a brand new bike when you bought it. Can't beat that.

They're a fun bike.

I noticed I have about 2700 on my 2010 that I bought new just over a year ago. That's low compared to my first dual sport (my DR650) which got 12,000 miles put on it in a year.

Holy crap! I'd say so! You're already do for an oil change. I've put on about 800 miles since I pulled the bike out this spring. Sadly they're almost all from commuting to work.

I'm right at 2000 miles... have had the bike about a year. My daily commute is a whopping 7 miles round-trip, so the only time I can rack up miles is on the weekend. The stock D605 is looking about 2/3 worn down the middle (too much slab, not enough dirt). Will be putting a D606 on it when the stock tire is shot.

No fear It was done at 600 two months ago, then at 1000 without a filter then at 1500 with a filter and then at 2000 without. I am on top of it!

I just brought home my 2006 Ninja 500. I rode that thing 600 miles in 24 hours and my butt was not sore!

They will split miles now.

Thats how my tire looked too. I probably could have gotten a few more miles out of it but the wind by the lake is killer. I swear I thought the back end would get blown out from underneath me.

I'd say you are on top of it. Did you just get the Ninja or take it out of storage? It's funny you mentioned the seat. I slabbed it for about three hours that day and my butt felt like it was vibrating for the rest of the night!

I bought it about 3 weeks ago from a guy in Oregon about 600 miles from home. I flew yesterday morning to pick it up.

I road 600 miles of divided highway. Really beautiful. I rode it like I stole it and it was a friggin blast. I hit almost 120 at 6500 feet passing Crater lake National park. Wide open roads and crisp air. Great visibility.

I am going to post a picture in a new thread.

Now I am getting a new seat for the KLX.
