I’ve got a 2001 klx 250. Noticed the fan wasn’t working, so I took it off to test. But in the process while disconnecting the fan from the radiator. I found a black wire with red stripe not connected to anything. Basically there is a loom that has 2 wires in it, 1 is a earth that connects to the fan shroud and radiator. The other black and red wire has been cut and taped by the previous owner, does anyone have any idea what it’s for. I just want to have everything correct before fitting a replacement fan.

 

On my 2001 KLX one wire coming from this loom also connects to earth, another one goes to the fan switch.
