Help starting a klx300
I know this is not a 300 forum, but there seems to be lots of smart guys here and I was hoping to get some help. I have an issue kick starting a 2007 klx300r and was hoping one of you smart guys here had some tips.
I picked up the bike from my neighbor. He was glad to see it go as it never started well from day one. He's had it to the dealer twice, who gave it a clean bill of health. Yet at normal room temperatures it's a mother f- to start. You can kick it 30 or so times before it starts. Even following the kick starting process described on the tank to get the compression release set up. I swapped the low speed jet to a #40 and that's help the low speed and cold throttle snaps a bit, but not the room temperature starts. Hot it is fine.
I'd like to get the KLX300 going. I'm at my wits end. And the dealer says "it's fine" but it's not
Any help?

When cold, are you using the choke? I have found that using the choke when cold is a must with the CV carb, and no throttle at all.
When the engine is warm tho, there is no need for choke and working the throttle a bit helped too.
