Default Heated grips

I just got a set of Tusk heated grips today and it looks like both grips are the same size. I don't see how these work on the throttle side. Did I buy the wrong type or am I missing something simple?

PS: I searched the old threads and can't find the answer to my question.

Are you talking about the ID of the grips? If so, you may have bought a model for a thumb throttle like most quads have.

I am no expert but the throttle tube adds a small amount of space to the bar size, so I would think grips for throttle tube style throttles would have a slightly larger ID on the throttle size. Is it possible to squeeze it over the tube or no? What was the model # you bought, I'm sure somebody on this form must have tusk grip heaters?

Normal Motorcycle grips have one ID bigger than the other in order to fit over the throttle tube. You may well have gotten ATV grips as PSUdude mentioned.

I just took a look at rockymountain selections of heated grips. There are some that specifically say:

Designed for ATV thumb throttles, will not work with twist grip throttles.

I would check the model you ordered.

Cheers,

Anthony

If it makes you feel better you can get some new ones from ebay for $5 or so.
