Just purchased my first Vulcan 2003 VN1500L4 nomad & I want to add heated hand grips. Would appreciate any recommendations as to brand or type

I prefer the heated inserts to the heated grips because you can use any grip you choose plus they are less expensive. I have found the Dual Star inserts to work great on both of my road bikes.

One set has been working for 10 years, 120,000 miles and two sets of grips, the they outalsted the first set of grips! The other set for 5 years and 95,000 miles with out a glitch.
I use the included three way switch and no grip glue. When they get too hot even on low I just switch them off. I never needed the glue, the grips never move.
