Default Heated Grip or Hand guards??

My wifes hands are freezing on the longer rides that we do. i have been search for a while and I am not sure which is better. I would like everyones opinion on this. I have not found much in the way of hand guards for the ninja 250ex. We just are not ready to put the street bikes away for the year.

the grips will be more expensive and more involved in installation, and will only be renderen in the cold months, but obviously will generate heat, unlike the guards..

the guards are year-round goodness, but won't do much other than protect from rocks, bugs, ect..

being in Wa, i'd guess it gets way colder for a longer time there.. i'd probably do the grips now, then do guards in the spring.

But grips don't do anything to keep wind chill off the backs of the hands.

Big fleece lined handlebar muffs are what most couriers use, as they can just slip their hands in and out without the bulk of heavy gloves and without the complication and current draw of heated bits.

Those guys are experts at staying warm and dry.

I put Hand guard on the dual sport bike and the work ok. I would like both for her bike. I just no sure which hand guards will work with the ninja and not look to supid.

Here you have a choice. Keep warm and look stupid, or look cool and be cool..

Ya there is that. The biggest issue I have is finding a hand guard the I can bolt to the 250. There is not a lot of room left on the handle bars.

I installed the heated hand grips on my wife's bike and it has 6 heat settings, trust me they get warm. Both of our bikes also have the hand guards with the spoilers.
