Headpipe is too hot after mods & other crap!

vs. the small round K jet in this application, the DJ part fuels about the same. Not true with all K jets.

A common concern you see on many forums is the pipe glowing red hot usually seen in a dark garage. Nothing out of wack , just thin wall pipes vs. the double wall and chrome pipes people are used too. Can't say I've even seen my klx red hot though, but they have discolored.

OK. I've decided that the headpipe isn't that big of a deal.
I wonder why I need to give it throttle to start after it's hot?
What does moving notches on the needle mean compared to larger main jet?
I'm thinking with the needle raised one notch it may have more fuel on starts. I haven't got to pull the carb yet.

Raising the needle won't affect starting. The needle controls from about 1/4 to almost full throttle. Main jet contols wide open. The pilot jet and fuel screw control idle to where the needle picks up.

im the same, but i dont see the throttle issue as a problem really.

I wear MX Pants and the heat from the exhaust comes through the pants and I have to lift my leg out to get some air from time to time. I would not dare ride with shorts unless you are just in your backyard going no where!
