I have a PIAA bulb (part # 70456), it's 60/55W. They claim its as bright as a 110/100W bulb. I got the 4000 Kelvin. It was $45, pricey but the guy at the shop said he's used the same bulb in 3 different bikes. It is a lot better than the stock bulb.

Default tusk light bulb

Installing this one tonight,Tusk Super White Bulb | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC I will post comparison pics between the stock and this one. For 9.99 it was worth a try.

whatever ddm tuning sells
35watt hid high low beam 5000K color

I was just showing that the hid doesnt splatter much like your used to seeing on other housings
like the 2 bikes ive put them in before they splatter more

where this bike it looks almost like stock, just tons brighter

so its a great addition
as long as you keep it aimed lower, not blinding drivers
since its so much brighter aimed lower you still see way farther on dark roads

and high beam, just blows it away you can see very far

I have only seen HID high beam setups before. They usually use a halogen for low. So, does the DDM unit have both HID high and HID low beams? That would be very nice... I'm going to head to their website now.

its the same 1 bulb
its on a rocker
a magnet pops it up and angles it slightly for high beam

negative on this is if low beam burns out you have no high beam they are the same filament in the bulb

You sure? Perhaps USA models are glass (?). My Canadian model is certainly plastic, both lense & reflector. For reference, it's labelled "Rinder - Motorcycle DOT".

That's what I thought. Reflecting back (pun intended) I think the last bike I owned with a legit glass headlamp was a 1979 model.*
My 1973 75/5 is also glass; I recall that being an issue when I took it to the track once. I was required to REMOVE the headlight, not just tape it over.
