I am wanting to replace the flimsyOEM handlebars on my 07 KLX and am a bit confused byen the various after market suppliers advertising and claims. I am wanting something that will take repeated abuse (lay downs) and keep on ticking. I have always believed that the "real world" experience of riders using the product in the manner it will actually be used is the best endorsement possible. Therefore, I am turning to you riders who have after market handlebars for your recommendation as to which is best (I know that is somewhat objective), but I want your opinions nevertheless. Also, if you don't mind let me know which bend you prefer. TIA

CR Hi's About as tall, alot straighter.

Stock steel bars are cheese. Any halfway decent aluminum bar is an improvement. Renthals, Answer Pro Tapers, & Tagcost the most--better than the cheaper Tusk & MSRs? Dunno, but I have been happy with my Renthals & Answers on various bikes.

 

pro-taper contour 1 1/8 windham bend. best bars you can buy.
you will need adapters to go to the bigger size bar. both could be had for about $100. you could go with the less $$$ bars like longhorn or tusk,but you will end up bending them sooner than the pro-tapers.

 

Fasst bars are the way to go they got rid of my arm pump.

 

One thing I would look for is starighter Bars. The bend in the stock handle bars is too sharp for my liking. Especially for my left hand but maybe it has something to do with playing the Bass for 30 years.

 

I followed Nobrake's lead and went with Renthal's McGrath, Lusk & Stewart bend. I like them, especially with the risers. The bike has been down plenty of times, and they haven't bent yet.

I'm loving my RM Windham High bends.

 

Pro-Taper never failed after repeated crashes and the fat pad is better than the bar pad I think. Broke a pair of renthal in half at the cross bar once. But still a good bar, I just didn't stick the landing!

 

Currently running the pro-taper contours with the Tusk bar adapters.The bars are in the universal low bend to offset the 3/4" rise of the adapter.I didn't want a taller bar.

 

I personally love the KX high bend But I have bent the Tusks I bought to replace stock- ya I bent them too
