Default Handlebar foam pad

Hey guys,

Is it possible to fit a handlebar / pad / foam thingy to a stock handlebar or do you need to switch out the handlebars to something similar like that on a BMX? With a supporting bar.

I'd like to get one but I have just the stock bars.

Maybe I'm missing something? But I can't see how one would snuggly fit on otherwise.

You might be better off getting other bars, I fell one time, it wasn't even a bad fall, more like a slip, but still, they bent, so I got some protapers.

What about these? The are bars without the crossbar, but with the pad looks like its being held in by those brackets. Looks cool.

Well, that is acctually the crossbar, that's what Protaper and renthal uses, I have ones similar to those, I'm not sure exactly which ones but they look like them...
They work just fine

Most of those are just like what bmx bikes use. They are typically cut to the size of a motorcycle crossbar for conventional bars and would fit most all bars with crossbars. I don't use the pads so I installed it on my 6 yr old son's bmx bike.

I put a fox pad on my stock bars, it''s green to match the bike and I had to manipulate it around some to look ok but in the end it looks fine. I did it as I like how it looks but I did have a crash years ago where my head hit an unpadded one pretty good.

I recently bent my stock bar on a slow sped crash. The stock one's are steel and heavy. I replaced it with an aluminum one.The pad would fit on a stock set, I had one on temporarily.

Tusk makes a foam thingy for kid's bikes that works perfect. Look on RMATV.

well i can tell you this, when i was in 9th grade, im in 12th now, i was on my CRF 150 and i went off a very big jump that a neighbor of mine made and i went too fast... i came down and slammed my chin on the handlebars, unfortunatley i missed the pad and split my chin open for the second time.... got 6 stitches. i wil always use a pad.

I need the dashboard room so a computer and rollchart cushions my face if it needs to head towards the crossbar
