Just saw the post when I had the cases split it is two pieces.

 

Thank you all so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I have to admit this is a great site and you get quick and helpful replies right away. I am going to let a mechanic have a look at it just in case Im missing something. When this is all over I am going to post what was done to the bike to get it back into working condition. Thanks again for all the replies.
