RE: Braded Stainless Steel Brake lines
The GalferSS line made for the KLX does rout below the fork leg like the stock line. The difference is, it is a one piece line that eliminates the "pipe". If you are thinking about replacing the stock line I can see no reason not to go with the CR type line. Ithas much more protection. I still use my FSW brake line guard with my CR type line because it still provides some protection for the caliper area.

RE: Braded Stainless Steel Brake lines
Ive seen a pic on this board of the Galfer KLX300 line running around the outside of the fork, not underneath.

But I still prefer CR style.

RE: Braded Stainless Steel Brake lines
That picture of the Galferis not how that brake line is intended to be routed. The second brake line I had before going to the Crtype was a Galfer for the KLX and it is supposed to rout underneath like the stock line. I think routing underneath with a good guard would provide more protection than the one pictured. I would never go out where I usually ride with it routed like the one pictured. I don't think I would come home with a working front brake.

RE: Braded Stainless Steel Brake lines
Well, I don't know what Galfer line# you had, but there's no way that mine could route facing downward. The length of the 90 degree fitting is too short to clear the bottom of the caliper if it's going that direction. KLXer is right. A CR style would be best, like I also mentioned in the post you guys are referring to.
Why would you come home with a broken brake with the way it's routed now? What would the failure mode be? Just curious to hear your insights.

RE: Braded Stainless Steel Brake lines
Don't give up on me guys...I have a bit less than 2 weeks to get this race bike in order...then I promise I'll concentrate on the guards. Sorry that it has taken so long, but the race build has been more complicated thatn I'd planned.
