hello im new to the howl forum thing but i just got done putting my bike all together and have just over a thousend mile and whonted to know if any one has had the bike up to past 80 and if thay had chand the front sprocket to a 15 tooth only mod i have done is the bb331 kit with web cams and a fmf slip on and a re jet of a #40 and #130
Welcome Rayman, 80 is way fast enough on this bike.
Most of us have actually gone the other way by dropping the front down one and the back up 2-5. Gives you a lot of trail power.

Cruising at 70MPH in 6th gear, your RPM will be about 600rpm lower than with the 14t.I recommend the 15t if you log alot of miles on the slab. Otherwise 1st gear would be on the tall side for technical trail riding. 250cc is pretty much out of the question since it barely handles sixth gear with the 14t.

The pumper rocks. Quick instant throttle response. Makes what little power we have, available in a more violent way, more grins. If you ride agressively at all, then you'd appreciate the response. If you're on pave or just motoring down trials, then the CV is probably fine for you.. But at least get a short throw throttle..
Most "real" dirtbikes come with pumper carbs for a reason, if you're used to that type of power delivery, or want to get closer to it, then go pumper. Mikuni's are quite reasonable $$-wise, the Keihin is a bit more $$, and more fiddly to adjust, but considered top of the food chain by many.
NOT looking forward to rejetting my FCR when the BigBore kit arrives.. : ( will be a tedious weekend for sure.
My bike handles 6th gear fine, it'll rev way up past where I want to be on the highway. (80mph, 8000rpm no problem -scary) I weigh 160.
I'm running (currently) 250cc, FCR35 pumper carb, short throw throttle, lightened flywheel, FSW header and KLX300 exhaust, snorkle removed, 2" holes drilled in the airbox cover. 14/43 gearing.
1st & second gears are a little tall on the dirt.. I'd like to go 13t, but I have 90 more CC's in the mail so I'll wait until thats squared away before I make any moves.
