After I installed my 300cc kit I was impressed - I'm still considering the Bill Blue 351cc big bore kit if business picks up.

 

I got all my parts to do a 331cc big bore. I'm really anxious to get the install started, however I'm a little intimidated with the whole TDC and gettin the cams right, cam chain, etc.....
So, I just talked to a guy here locally, he builds race engines for his son. He will do the cylinder swap and port and polish the head for $300.
The guy has an amazing shop with some cool race bikes, he's even got a 250r motor making a little over 40 horses! His son runs it against 125 moto gp bikes.
Just thought I would see what you guys think. Probably going to drop it off early next week.

Still want to know what any body has to say about paying 300 bucks to have the head ported and polished along with the cylinder swap.

 

That's a good deal!

Usually a good port job cost $$250-$300 per cylinder. That's what it is costing me from John at cycle pro racing where you got the BB kit.

If you can trust him with your machine, then go for it!

Just got back from a ride w/ the wife, she doesn't like me smokin' by her. She asked about the bb kit - complaining about her bikes not keeping up with mine.....

Do us a favor an get a pic of the port work if you can.

as far as trusting the guy with my machine...I hardly trust anyone with my stuff. I usually do my own work on everything.
I have never taken an engine down that far and when the guy said he would also do the head, i started thinking.....

 

also... I think I'll try and see if he'll let me hang around and watch the work go down, and maybe get some pics too

I just dropped my bike off at cycle pro racing today, first time she left my sight. John you better take care of her! JK I know you will.
