get me up to date
I started reading through this and realized that between the end of last winter and the beginning of this winter that alot of new things have come out for our bike. I'm getting ready to order an exhaust and just at a quick glance am thinking the muzzy is still the best built and most reliable exhaust. Please correct me if i am wrong. Also where is the best online location to purchase the best exhaust for the 250s
only true full system made for this bike is the big gun.. the other option is a muzzy which requires simple mod/removal of the buddy peg..... both systems are prob equal in the gains department but theirs been alot of quality issues with the muzzy concerning springs missing mounts missing etc. as for big gun, no1 on this forum with their klx seems to have had any probs with theirs, but some1 recently posted a thread linkin to a complaint thread on another board.... i guess it comes down to looks imho and big gun is the way to go.

big gun is best imo. it is built for the 250 and not just a 300 knock off. the muzzy will bronze the headpipe after first heat cycle, some have to remove buddy peg also to get it to fit. some have even dented the muzzy midpipe in just to clear the peg. the Muzzy canister sits a lot lower than the BG and imo looks tacky gaudy and more prone to damage if crashed on that side. I don't like the spout on the Muzzy as it imo, looks too sportbikish. BG headpipe is ceramic coated so it won't corrode and will stay shiny and new looking, mine has anyways. Muzzy uses springs to connect pipe section, BG uses a nice clamp which seats evenly around the pipe and not just where the springs pull it tight. also, some Muzzy's are coming w/no spring mounts. springs are a bitch to install, if you haven't done it, you'll see and they always get stretched out and misshaped. My BG fits like the stock pipe and power gains are of course seat of the pants, but I can tell you that it felt like nitrous was hooked up after my pipe was installed. I'm sure power gains on both are real close, but these are just my observations on my own EvoX BG system and what I've read on here with other Muzzy owners. I will say that a couple guys on here have had problems with BG's customer service and not receiving the right header. I also had to contact BG because a couple of the hex bolts vibrated out of my end spout. I sent an email to godknewwho, and in 1 day I had a bag containing all of the bolts that went into the end spout delivered to my house and was not charged. I was impressed, so I can't say enough about their CS. Your bike, your decision. good luck.
before anyone bashes me re: this post or accuses me of this or that, these were just my opinions. if you believe otherwise that's fine.

So what your saying is that you like the Big Gun? LOL just kidding my friend, its all good.
Not impressed by either or. Not enough to argue or fight about it either. Other riders are stepping away from Muzzy and Big Gun and giving other brands a shot at the title. Maybe it's time for something else........
I know I will ride with some members of this forum, and none of us will give a ffffudge what pipe we have on our bikes. We will just gear up, shut up and go............

If you dont care what happens after you walk out the door with your product, you will be allright with the big gun as they issues in the customer service department. I does appear that the quality issues with the latest incarnation of the big gun have been addressed as failures reported on prior products have yet to be reported in the latest threads reagrding units self destructing. Mine is good with one repack in 2500 hard ridden miles.
