Gear Speed Calc. (A.K.A. Newbie tries to give back a little.)
I recently acquired an 06 klx250s with only 750 miles. It’s been a lot of years since I had a bike, and to be honest I never would have considered a 250. However the price was right and I couldn’t resist. Sometimes things happen for a reason. This bike is as much fun as any I’ve ever owned but let’s be honest, it is completely anemic.
The search for extra ponies has led me here, where I’ve spent several days pouring through past threads. Long story short, I’m amazed at the quality of information found here as well as the member ingenuity.
I wanted to give back a little but didn’t really have anything to contribute. I noticed a few people having questions about speedometer inaccuracies after gearing / tire and wheel changes etc. Since that seemed like an easy fix I whipped up a spreadsheet that will show true road speed vs rpm.
Figured it might be handy if you’re curious about the affect of a change prior to implementation.

Welcome Gumby.
A 2006 with 750 miles ???!!! Wow, nice find. Good for you. Where are you at?
Sounds like you know the bike well already. Anemic in stock form yes it is. Responds to simple mods well.
here's another for you if you decide to play with gearing: Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator
