Default Fuses - locations and functions

Was trying to repair a tailpiece eliminator lightset when I managed to get some wiring wrong on the brakelight wiring. Key on but everything off - no instrument, no headlight, signals... Looked under seat and found a small fusebox labeled spare, fan, and ignit. Ignition and fan are fine. What the heck blew and where is it located?

And in the broader sense, what fuses does a 2010 KLX250s have and what spares should I be carrying? Spinning a wrench is bad enough for me but anything with wires is even worse.

Default Fuse error in service manual?

2009 KLX 250S

On page 16-15 of the service manual the diagram shows "Ignition fuse" and "radiator fan fuse" in the main box under the seat.

I think this is in error. From my notes:

"The "ignition" fuse is actually the headlight / tail light fuse: the turn signals still worked and the bike ran with this fuse blown."

There is also supposed to be a 20 amp "main fuse" located near the starter relay.

So, given the symptoms maybe you blew the fuse labeled "ignition" because this is actually the "lighting *minus* the turn signals" fuse.

klx-vn, replace the fuse labelled IGN, as posted above that one should be labelled LIGHTS. the one from the SPARE slot will do.
Not many fuses on these bikes. the MAIN 20A; IGN (actually LIGHTS) & FAN both 10A. That's all I could see on the wiring diagram unless there more undiscovered errors

Thanks for the assistance. So it was the MAIN 20A fuse in the red-colored fuse case that's tucked away under the seat (near the starter relay). I'll have to be more careful in the future!

Best to NOT use a car battery charger. Use one with a 2Amp max charge rate made for AGM motorcycle batteries.
