Full Moon Werewolf Hunting

Full Moon Werewolf Hunting
So, I went out on a full moon dual sport ride last night with two KLR 650's. There were these giant mogul hills, one after the other. I noticed that the two KLRs had headlights that pointed down more. It seemed they could see what they were descending into after they crested the mini hill.
With me, it seemed like I was totally descending into the unknown. Even as I was on my way down, I only illuminated the upward slope and I couldn't see what was at the bottom. My headlights seem good for night time on the road, but the trail needs some adjusting. One guy had a helmet mounted LED light, and that thing was crucial. One time I chose the worst line and fell into a small drop off with 1 inch thorns-in a mesh jacket My new handguards are getting a workout, that's for sure.
Here's a pic or two.
There's sort of drop off there, steep, but maybe 12 feet deep. In and out kind of hills.
KLR issues....it started to rain 5 minutes after he fixed it. It's really good we didn't get caught out in those giant moguls. It was really slick clay type mud.
No werewolves here.
Doesn't look like much, but the bike and I were SOAKED. It even seemed to hail a little bit on the way home.
And just for grossness, I hit bug central on the way home from another ride over the previous weekend. It was bad, had to stop and clean off my visor. Proof that the handguards work!

We had a guide who was familiar with the route.
How about drought conditions for months, on hard packed clay. The ground just cracks open into these inch wide deep chasms. You can't see the bottom.
OK, then add 20 minutes of hard rain then an hour of light rain on that clay stuff. It was slippery stuff. I dunno how those KLR's kept upright!
I'll try and hit it up again in the daylight and get some pics. It's a really cool run that is in the middle of Austin. Some of it on the property of a decommissioned international airport.
I love our Urban Assault Bike!!!
