New member new owner ! Kx 250 H series doing full strip down and full rebuild
Hi guys as the title states new owner found this forum as i always do when i buy a new bike or car. great souces of info
Im a mechanical fitter by trade with engine experience so dont hold back with the techie stuff
Currently doing a full strip down restore job on a very badly looked after kx250
having everything every bearing seal bush you name it ! basically because its been abused, i didnt realise it was so bad until i started stripping it and didnt stop to the point its in bits and the engine is too !
If any body has any bits for sale that would be great too even new model bits !

thanks for the reply. i will post some now...
this is the list of has been done and needs to be done
engines stripped got new selector shaft new idle wheel new bearings/seals through out new crank new piston barrel replated and skimmed along with the head for maximum compression prob have run it on optimax or something haha
new clutch new springs modded clutch basket for lightness. exhaust painted black end can polished to mirror finish and top coated ! powervalve guide valve tigged and repaired new inlet cleaned carb new filter. new front wheel, respoked rear new front and rear bearings, new linkage, new fork bearings. new rear shock seals. reconned calipers and pads with stainless braided lines, new seat cover. shot blasted and painted through out. new sticker decal set
starting to come together with regards to bits engine wise still waiting on bearings and the barrel and head then i can start rebuilding....
frames painted along with sub frame. swing arms getting tig'd up and repaird at work atm as it had been gouged out by the chain.
forks need sanding down to a mirror finish too
still need a seat cover the one i got off ebay didnt fit :/ was for a newer model the idiot seller was wrong and it was off a newer bike
need new front sprocket
posibily need new discs front and rear if they are too warped and go thin when i turn them up
so compared to 2 weeks ago im starting to get somewhere been a right run around for bits !
