Default Fuel range

Just installed IMS 3 gal tank and was wondering about how many miles before reserve. Just looking for ballpark figure ... over 100,150 or more. My klx is a 2012 with dynojet stage one kit,120 main and 2 1/2 turns out on idle jet. Also have a kdx 300 snokel and stock exhaust. I am hoping for 150. What are other riders getting ????

i get 110 miles with 1.7~1.8 gallons of fuel (my regular commute and fill up)...roughly 60 mpg....so, i'll probably get about 150 miles before having to hit reserve...and, have about 30 miles left on reserve...

i'm running dj132, k&n, kdx snorkel, fmf megabomb, hmf exhaust, etc...

Damn, I knew I got screwed!! My dealer must have taken the "reverse" off my bike before delivery and then sold it to someone else. Sum beach!!
ha ha, sorry I couldn't resist! Feel free to do the same to me when the "human factor" delivers a slip up my way.

With my 331 kit, FMF exhaust, opened air box, stage1 jetting and driving like I stole it, I get 50 to 55 mpg. For that care free peace of mind I carry a few fuel bottles when I'm out in the "boonies," but have yet to use them. MPG has a lot to do on how you twist your wrist.

I have used this forum with success for many mods and fixes. I felt that the members were very helpful. But I never needed help from any English or spelling experts. This is a motorcycle forum !! So in the future if I need help or advice I will look somewhere else.

Geeze.....don' be so thin skinned. Laugh at yourself once in a while. See a little humor in yourself and others and you may enjoy and appreciate both more. No offense was intended. Taking everything seriously makes for an uptight ride and an early heart attack.

Geez!...no kidding. You'd better stay away from internet forums if you can't see the humor in something. Very little joking that goes on in this forum is ever done in a mean spirited way. It's a good community here, and most of us like to have a good time while discussing the many issues that pop up here. Relax.

I'll bet there's a time or two where any of us would have been quite happy to have reverse on a MC even as small as the KLX!

LOL!...no kidding. Like that place in a tight trail where you need to turn around but the ground is slightly uphill on both sides of the trail. You're trying to use the gas and forward gear to roll sideways up the side of the trail to get enough angle for the rear of the bike to head down the trail the way you were going. You gas it up the side of the trail and the bike rocks backward but not quite enough to the get the rear to pull up the other side of the trail to get turned around. You rock forward with the gas and roll backwards by gravity. You do this a few times thinking it's finally going to work until you wise up, get off, and just manhandle the bike around to go back the other way. I like it when it's decently uphill on both sides of that narrow trail, and you stall the bike right about the time that the bike is almost completely 90 degrees in the trail, and your feet have no hope of touching the ground. A scene from Laugh-In occurs. Yes, reverse would be nice sometimes.
