Default fuel line material

I have installed a fuel filter between the fuel tap and the carby but have a little problem. I replaced the section of rubber fuel line with a new piece of line ( so i dont cut the original piece for the filter ) and the new fuel line sticks out a bit. I want to replace this section of line with metal line (copper, alumimium, steel) so i can get the line in the space nice and tight. The question is which metal should i use? Will there be chemical reactions when using the wrong metal?

thanks

i think your just thinking up stuff to do. that line looks fine. leave it alone and you'll never have a problem with it. i just cut the line that was on there and put the filter on. it's tight but who cares? it works.
