I order the Dynojet direct from the DynoJet website. And the KDX snorkle I ordered from bikebandit.com. The Dynojet is stage 2 actually. Followed all the instrustions except the 3 turns out on the idle/fuel mix. Did only 2 turns out on the idle/fuel. Also used a 124 main jet since I don't use a aftermarket exhuast.

The DynoJet I ordered and whats inside. The kit includes a set of main jets from 112 to 132, new DJ needle, and slide spring.

Something else I just realized. The kit is only suppose to come with 2x needle adjusting washers, but mine came with 3x washers. And I used all 3x washers. I wonder what the effects were.

09klx, the KDX 200 snorkle part # is in my signature. You will be pleased with the power you get rejetting it. You also need the aftermarket exhaust to let the air flow out also. Did all mine at one time and it really improved the performance. By the way, my dyno kit had 3 washers too but I only used two per the instructions.

Why is it that the KDX200 has a bigger snorkle than KLX250?

Honestly never thought about it, but isn't it because a 2-stroke has almost twice the volumetric requirements of a 4-stroke? By that I mean a 2-stroke is firing on every other stroke. It's taking in air/fuel and exhausting the spent gas at about twice the rate...isn't it?

I'd think the 2 stroke revs higher too. On the KLX, I believe that the goal of that small intake was noise reduction. You'll notice that the snout and overall length of the snorkel is much longer on the KDX snorkel.

When you start extreme noise reduction measures on an engine such as was done with the exhaust you start realizing that the intakes make a ton of noise. I ran into this when I shoved a canadian WR426 muffler on my 10HP Tecumseh genset, man did that intake roar.

Modern fuel injected cars/trucks often have big resonance chambers built into the intake systems upstream and downstream of the filter. Trying to eliminate the intake droan.

The KDX is a real hi-po machine, The KLX is a compromise machine. Apples and oranges. One needs the air to even live, the other needs to be a quiet and polite DS bike...

Good answer Buzztail!

So is the snorkle the only thing that good to put on the KLX?
