Default fuel air screw question.

quick question of what its supposed to feel like when you have bottomed out the screw all the way it.

Its got that little rubber seal on the end does that prevent it from being totaly seated? it just seemed like when i put it in that it never really bottomed out and just got hard to turn so i stopped turning and spun it out like half a turn and when i started the bike, it ran fine so i figured i was close... But i'm going to be going up to a 128 main from a 125 because i'm switching to the kdx snorkel. also i have my n1tc needle on the second clip from the bottom... think i should go up one? thanks

near the end it does get harder to turn, because you are compressing a spring. But I recall a very definite stop when I hit the bottom.
I think I remember feeling the spring going "ting ting" as it approached full tightness.

I'd say put on the snorkel first, and any other mods, then see how she runs before tuning the carb more. Have you considered the 40 pilot ? With all the forum mods it runs perfect and the plug is of perfect color with 40 pilot (2 turns out), 2nd clip, 125. I put on the 2 Bros and went to the 128 (just because I had bought it previously) and went back down to the 35 pilot (to see what would happen) and at 2.5 turns out it pops when off the throttle decelling. Going back to the 40. In the end, though, you have to jet it yourself.....

KDX snorkel or no airbox lid, what's the difference? Kaw lists the snorkel for $50+ and taking the lid off is free. The KDX snorkel looks just like the stock KLX250S one. Options?

I actually fabbed up an Outterwears lid so that I can use a K&N ALL SEASON and never have to clean it. It flows like no lid but protects better than the stock snorkel.

Which leads to your question...the snorkel gives some level of protection against water/dirt getting into the airbox, lowering how often you have to clean your air filter.

rkutzner,

Could you post some pics of the outerwears cover? Did you fab it up yourself? I was looking at the "universal" cover at www.ehsracing.com, and I decided that the 4.5x4.5 cover wouldn't fit like I would like it to. I'd like to see what you have done.

Yes, just give me a day or two to 'edit' this post. I'll leave this in my inbox to remind me when I get home.

Basically, I cut anicesizedhole in the top and fabbed a plate to clamp the outterwears over the hole. It reuses two of the top cover holes. I only have to rinse off the outterwears every 500-1000 miles. It stays fairly clean up there under the seat as it is. Worst case you could duct tape the material over the box.....

Try this...I had posted it before !

https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_111003/tm.htm

In case you haven't used this material before, if you stick your mouth over it and breath you will feel absolutely NO resistance, it's like it's not there. Since the hole is bigger than the intake tube, it's more than enough.

Put a small screw driverr in between your thumb & index finger. Turn it with only those two fingers. When it stops at all your done.
