I balance when I put new tires on.
You can use spoke type weights or flat ones with sticky back tape.
I don't have a fancy balancer so I use a metal rod that came with my harbor frieght tire machine and set it between two chairs. Works fine for me.

They make it look easy.
Haha! About the same weight as I am. We don't have the natural stabilizer built into our but or gut 
Anyway the rear spring is just about right for a 160lb rider. Light in the azz folks like us cause the weight to be more forward, making the geometry that much more twitchy.
Getting you sag set properly will help.
