Replacement signals

I found these on eBay. I removed the round, red reflectors that are to the side of the license plate and installed the new signals there. No problem - works great. Also these have a metal body and are bright leds.

Is there anything special about turn signal lights? I mean they just need 2 wires and a method to mount right?

Wont these work? They say not compatible for my bike, but is that really true?
