For the cost of 2qts of oil and a filter. I don't mind changing the oil every 1k miles. Just driving the KLX the same mileage as the truck. I save enough in 1x tank full of gas on the KLX to afford the cost of the oil change.

If it runs, its still good. I've seen worse as a mechanic. Just try a little bit more tender loving care for the KLX.

Its alright about the longevity of the engine because I have a KX250F motor that I found will fit perfect in the KLX. If I don't want to monkey with the 250F I was thinking of getting the 330 bore. The reason I left it go so long is because I never had the time to change it and every time I went to my dealer they said they didn't have a filter in stock so I ended up ordering one over bikebandit.

Umm...yeah, just bolts right in . 'Monkeying with it' would involve more than just fitting the engine. How about a KX250F CDI and wiring harness for starters, then an after market stator and some some sort of dual sport kit that includes a smaller battery and regulator if you want to keep your lighting.

Dependability will drop, because the engine has higher performance and compression. You will have to burn premium gas and I wouldn't want to miss many oil changes on that engine. Start searching for a KX header and a good weld shop as well, unless you want the fullKX250F exhaust.

I learned to weld at 11 and have thought the 250 motor through and you are right about the premium gas and oil changes.

Haha thanks Stellar. But this thread was for the most part a fraud. I actually changed the oil at 600 and 1000 and 2000 and 3000 and 4000. I just wanted to see everyones reactions.

Sorry [8D]

A more appropriate term would be “lie”, peoples reaction to an idiot isn't much of a science project.

Once you’ve lost your credibility on a forum you become a nuisance and your posts loose value.

I don't think the motor would still turn over if I went 4400 miles without a oil change.
