I'll compare em both when they get here.It sounds like neither one lasts that long.Personaly I always ran K&N in my blaster and banshees back in the day.I couldn't find a part number on it at all.Sounds like some people know which one it is,but then no one really confirms it.Got tired of that noise and went for the uni or twinair.I remember cleaning that stock filter last season-I got coated with a gallon of slime just taking it out.I'm gonna oil whatever filter I run obviously, but I think you would have to draw the line some where on excess.Whenever I would spray my K&Ns down,My wheeler was super rich until I could get on it and draw some oil through the filter and get it flowing normal.I got a mod coming up on another thread and I don't want this oil business to be a problem. It might make me trouble shoot in the wrong direction.

Over oiling a K&N isn't that big a deal on a carbed setup like our KLX, but it can play havoc on an FI rig that uses a mass air flow sensor, particularly the hot wire type...and I think that's the most common. The oil coats the wire which then gives improper readings back to the computer. The K&N for your KLX is the same one that's been around for the KLX300 and even most of the KDX200/220 series.

dna filters has one I noticed.Exact same thing as K&N.I got a kick out of their shipping times-anywhere from 4 to 32 days days(lol)I read on to find out that they're all the way over in Greece.WTF?I thought it was hilarious! They looked decent though.I wanna ditch my snorkel too.

I have a UNI in mine. It should last literally years and years, even if you clean it every few weeks. To clean, I use mineral spirits to dissolve the oil then soap and water to wash it. Let dry a couple days and re-oil.

Having a second filter will make sure you don't have any down time due to a filter cleaning. I'm not familiar with No-Toil but it should be about equal in construction and filtering ability.

With the second filter method do you clean and oil the backup filter or just clean it, then oil before install?

Is everybody greasing the lip? The grease adds significantly to the mess when trying to install this huge filter into that small airbox. I'm all for getting wet and messy while shoving oversize things into tight boxes but sheesh, this is too much.

I clean, dry, re-oil and put it in a ziplock bag to store. That way it's ready to go as the oil I use recommends letting the oiled filter set for a day before using. I also re-grease the lip. Ya, it's messy so I sometimes put on the latex gloves.

I also oil the clean filter and keep it in a ziploc bag. I don't grease the lip anymore since I got one of those plush gaskets that fits onto the lip area of the airbox.

I got a Uni as I had heard good things about them but in the end it's just a red foam filter, maybe it flows better than the stock yellow piece it replaced but I don't know. I can't justify going to a K and N as I have 2 usable filters now. but once they show their age I'm gonna try the K and N as I ran those in most of my stuff for years with excellent results. I know some experts don't like them but my experience has been excellent with them.
