You don't need jumps to bottom the suspension - especially you Deej
A little high speed "whoop" in the ground can easily push the tire deep into the fender.
I agree that toolbag would get ripped off when the suspension bottoms.
Depending on your sag and suspension settings, it's easier than you think.

Yeah I'm not an MX racer but any serious roots or rocks or whoops at any form of speed compresses the suspension alot. Sag alone sucks up a couple inches of travel. Just imagine driving off a curb of a sidewalk (or for us, the edge of old concrete roads in the Army camp) the suspension compresses alot more than you think, GreenMonster. I'd ditch the bag completely before I did that.

Stuff it with newspaper and do a couple test rides. If it comes up confetti you know where your tools will be...

Lets assume that you don't hit the bag with the tyre.
The rocks and roost are likely to shred that bag in no time.

Rocks and roosts, bottoming and heavy loads are all not in my immediate future. Good discussion though. I'd still like to know the maximum travel of the rear suspension. Any takers?

I accidentally switched to that show once. ONCE!! What a stupid inbred show. Talk about the dumbing down of America. And the language? No thanks. I wish all shows like that and all the stupid reality shows would just disappear.

I agree with ya Deej. Its an eastern Canada made show. I didnt consider it dumbing down americans. But I could see it giving a false impression to those in other provinces/states/coutries. There was a movie made here on the rock called "shipping news" and I felt it gave a bad impression of where I live. I hate that. As for the fanny bag: I dont see it lasting long. Even if u ride pavement alone, there is still grit that will get thrown and eventually sandblast it apart over time. Probably lose your tools about ten minutes before u need em!
