Interesting approach Dynobob. Do these bottles interfere with your seating position and how about getting on and off the bike?

If you're short you may want to slide the Sweetcheeks back when you come to a stop. While riding you sit on it and it really spreads out your weight. I've covered 725 miles in three days with no discomfort.

That was the plan. I'm cheap, so I paid 60$ (30$ for the mount, too) for 2 extra gallons instead of paying 300+ for 1 extra gallon.

Rotopax. Yeah, the range is awesome, but, my butt can't do that far yet. Hopefully the seat concepts seat will do the trick.

I just bought a 1.5 gallon Kolpin on eBay for $38. That's delivered, *AND* with a mount.

Gotta figure out how to mount it to my Nomadic rack still...

I do like the added range regardless. I like to put the non ethanol in my bike and I could fill one of these for the garage too. Less visits. I have a 5 gallon but I don't get down with it as often as I need it.

I like the MSR bottle and have one of the 33oz bottles. Would get a second one and be done with the extra fuel thing. Leak proof, smell proof and all that but how do you fill them on the road without spilling?

The one I have now I only use when really needed. Try to only use real gas (not 10% crap) and fill it from a larger supply at home. Change the contents every month or two to be sure of fresh gas.

One idea is carry a small siphon tube. Fill main tank. Siphon to fill MSR bottle. Then top off main tank. PITA process. Plus siphon tube retains some gas smell and residue.

So..... any ideas on how to fill the MSR on the road without spilling or carrying around what ever you used to fill it with, without carry the gas smell from residue on your filling equipment with you?

It is easier to fill them from a gas can at home, but it can be done from a pump. Stop when the level is 2-3in from the top. If I don't plan on using the gas for several months I fill them w/ 100LL, which is very stable (and no ethanol).
