This is my first bike and I want to get more power out of it and I'd like to change the exhaust but am not really wanting to spend like $450 for a full system. What differances would there be between a slip-on system and a full system. I was looking at the Muzzy's, if Ijust got the slip-on wouldI be able to later get the rest to add on if needed later.

 

uh o...... if i were to do it again id just get a slip on, personally id get the two bros slip on.

 

The theory is that if you keep stock header,you'll get more low end torque because its smaller. But with a bigger one you should get more high end?

I've compared both Muzzy and Big gun full systems and didn't notice much of a difference outside of the sound, and the way they fit. Both good pipes.

Availability was an issue for me too, so I ended up with the Muzzy. If I had to do it again, I'd say the same as Eric and try a slipon.

If you dont want to spend the money a 300R muffler & headpipe with an opened airbox & Kehin rejet is very effective. I'd estimate at least 90% of what you could obtain with any aftermarket system or jet kit.Cost you under $100 for sure.

Thats said, I'll take my Pro Citcuit pipe & Dynojet rejet over the 300R pipe & Kehein rejet I used to have but this setup is about $350.

You will find headers discussed ad naseum.

Bottom line is to get that 250S muffler off there ASAPand replace withany decent 300R or aftermarker option & rejet at the same time.
