Not sure if the image will work. Click to enlarge. I know it's not a straight image but this represents the OE exhaust. Can I cut out the exhaust tip and weld in a larger tip like the blue line represents? I'm thinking 1" or so.
The small OE pipe goes back in there a ways. Is the weld visible the only weld or is it welded internally to baffles as well?
Crazy, I know. I just think there's got to be a better solution to open up the stock pipe other than drilling and keep the sound down.

i dont see why not. if its an 09, just make sure you dont kill the cat inside (sounds like im talking on acid :P).

 

not sure it will help. I just pulled apart an '09 exhaust to use the parts to make a custom butt plug for my klx300 exhaust on my 250. Wish I had taken pictures because i know i can't explain this. but there are like 3 "discs" connected togther by that tube, and its welded in multiple places. I used the first disc cut down as my cap, then shortened the tube.
