Default exhaust butterfly

I remember back in the 60s my neighbor had a honda scrambler. He took the huge muffler off and ran straight pipes with butterfly baffles in the tips. I ride in some places I'm not supposed to so I wanted to keep the bike quiet, but still be able to open it up. I made this out of a 5/8" flat washer a couple 6mm bolts with flats ground on them, and mini allen bolts I got from an r/c hobby store. The hobby store also had the 4mmx14mm allen bolts for the carb bowl. The butterfly does help a little, although it's still not too loud with just the pea shooter drilled out. This might help guys with aftermarket systems that are too loud.

Graphics were an attempt on my part. I cut sign vinyl into 1/2" strips and mitred the ends, I'm happy with the side panels ,still unsure on the headlight. I did'nt want to go camo there as my biggest fear on the street is someone not seeing me & pulling out, so I wanted something brighter.

I am old enough to remember those "Snuff or Not" baffles........... Good idea! Looks like the stock muffler on there; did you just "hole saw" out the peashooter and bolt/rivet on the aftermarket exhaust end? If so, do ya have any pics of the procedure. I gotta couple of ideas about an exhaust tip but would like to see how others have removed the stock tip. Thanks, Dennis

Sorry, I did'nt take pics of assembly, but it's super easy. i got a $30 billet tip off ebay, used a side grinder on some 6mm bolts, fabbed a little tab lever, drilled some holes. I used a 1" hole saw on the peashooter, but even after grinding off all the tip,the saw wasn't long enough to completely cut the inner weld. I had to fatigue the last bit by wiggling the tip back & forth to get it out.The small holes were a little tough.I broke a drill bit &drilled off the edge one time,so use patience and think small.

Thanks Wildcard. I've had that link to your exhaust mod bookmarked for quite awhile now; nice job. Just looking for all the pics I can find about different ways to remove the stock "peashoooter" tip. I'll post some pics when I dig into mine.
