Are you on a S, or a SF , Crravingpantera?
If you are riding off road, you would be better off with "bark buster" type handguards, Some manufacturers make some pretty good looking versions of these.

dan, I was thinking the same thing. Being serious for a minute, I think CP might be happier on an SF. Those bar ends and some of the other comments and components that he has mentioned on some posts give me the impression he may be more of a supermoto guy. Nothing wrong with that. CP, have you considered an SF or some other supermoto style bike?...or turning your S model into one?

If you're interested in buying some, I would like to give a big shout out to Biketique. Their website says they're available in the States & Canada.
Biketique - Handguards

I brought a pair & mounting kit from a local dealer. Unfortunately he sold me HG2 Enduro items for short levers. I rang Biketique directly the following day and they mailed out a pair of HG1 guards & 65mm mounting extensions FOC. Great service and support. They appear to be well made although I haven't had a chance to test their strength yet See my pics in post #4.

Nope, I have the Tusk D-flex guards from Rocky Mountain ATV. I use the aluminum guards and the spoilers. It's cheaper than the full hand guard plastic and basically gives you the same amount of protection.

To the original poster... do you ride offroad at all? I find it kind of funny that you're worried about messing up your grips in a tip over, but not your clutch lever.
