Could you tell us how much light it throws at night, if you get the opportunity? I've been looking at lights and really like the Acerbis Diamond as well as a few other designs/brands, but the ones I like all have that 35W/spot combo that I don't think will light up the road anywhere near the way ourstock unit does.

Well I broke and bought one (cyclops). Should have it by next week, might even put it on before I go to Maui. Something tells me that it doesnt look big enough to cover up all of the guts behind the headlight, but we'll see. I'll take pics.

You bet. I'm sure its decent, maybe the lights are focused better or something and only needs to be 35w. Also I don't know if the diamond is DOT approved so that could land you some trouble.

Cool!

Yeah, whatever I buy will have to be street legal. I always bounce that off of my dealer, because he knows the transportation ministry (Japan) rules better than I do. I think it's fairly close to DOT though.

NOt enough light? put in an HID light, just like in BMW's. It's insane how bright it is.

You're not kidding. It's not as simple as just putting in the bulb either, because your reflector will have to be able to handle it without sending stray beams that blind on-coming motorists. It would begreat to find a nice, compact reflector and bulb combo that you could retro-fit into one of those models...if the price comes down a ton!

K i'm going to post in here since its more related. I got the cyclops. I'm not sure how the wiring works and which bulbs are supposed to be on/off. Anyone have any ideas or install something similar to the cyclops? Its got some small light thats inside the high beam (which I assume is the daytime light) and another round light that I assume is a flood light.

Also I sparked the wires and now the lights dont work at all. Fuses? [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

If it has 2 lights..I believe one is a flood light and the other a spotlight...I would guess the flood light is the low beam and the spot the high beam (flood would allow you to see close and wide angle whereas spotlight for distance) BUT I COULD BE WRONG just my guess

Over at Thumper Talk on the DRZ forum, there are a bunch of guys that use the Cyclops light. There is a recommended mod to make the light brighter. Here's the link ***LINK*** If you do a search on Thumper Talk, you will turn up a bunch of stuff on the Cyclops.

At SuperMotoJunkie.com, a guy put a couple of HID's in the Cyclops housing on a KTM. ***LINK*** You will have to join the forum to see this.

Please post pics when you have the light mounted, I would like to see what it looks like on the Kawi.

I just bought one tonight!!
Used for $75.. Installed then taken off.
It's the chrome colored one. But I'm trying to decide weather to paint it black.. Or some other color.. Or I own an airbrush, so I'm thinkin of something cool I could do to it, with some stenciling.
Tomorrow I should have some pictures up.
The guy told me that the small light is the high beam, and the flood light is the running light/low beam. I'll figure out the wiring tomorrow I guess.
I seen the black one installed on a KLX 400 before. It looked pretty good. Which is why I'm going with it. And he said he thought it was awsome bright for the road
