Thumbs up DIY: Carb Re-Jet/Valve Check

I couldn't post the thread in here since it has to many images, sucks because I typed it all here
Copied and pasted to ADVRIDER since they don't have a max image per page cap.

DISCLAIMER:

I'm not liable for any mis-haps, screw-ups, Oh-no's, bad info, or any other damage that may come from reading this thread and going by my step by step tutorial. This is the first time I've ever worked on my bike or any bike. I'm not mechanically inclined but I wanted to share my step by step tut and pics since I've seen several threads on the topics lately. As long as you remember to take your time, DOWNLOAD/PURCHASE A SERVICE MANUAL and READ IT, and have the proper tools(It took me several trips to the auto parts store...) you should be able to check your valves and jet your carb without paying someone else.

You'll need 8mm sockets, 10mm, sockets, wire cutters, assorted screw drivers, an assorted rubber intake plug set to plug up removed smog crap, torque wrench(in/lb), A SERVICE MANUAL (link: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...manuals-37525/), feeler gauges, and some time.

^^^PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVEN'T^^^

Hope this helps someone...

Nice Tut Paul.

Did you use a little gasket sealer on the half moons? Not sure what the manual says, but others around here say that helps.

As you noticed, KF has a limit to the number of images in a post. Next time, just post another reply in your thread if you have a lot of pics.

Thanks IDRIDR

Yes I used a little black rtv just on the half moons. Seems to have fixed it right up!

You know I didn't even think to use multiple replies, I may come back and do that, about to get on the road to travel for Christmas so I'll have to do it when I get back . Thanks for the reply!

What does "drilling" the slide do. I jetted my carb and I didn't see anything about that. I used Dyno-Jet.

Some of them call for drilling the slide, some you replace the spring, both help the slide respond faster which in turn helps for better throttle response. I used the dynojet kit 2206 for the klx300r, which is what most but not all 06/07 people used on here to jet. Even though I have an 09, I did it hoping that it'll create a better starting point for the big bore later... not sure if it will be or not though haha
