I wouldnt think it would be a main jet issue since it runs good with more throttle/rpm? But I really dont know for sure.

Can anybody else confirm the dynojet kit will work well with the "cam mod" or should I order some other specific needle? If the DJ needle is the way to go ill order the kit tomorrow, just dont want to waste $50 on jets just to find out I need something else. Im not sure the DJ kit was designed with the cam mod in mind??

The DJ kit works great with the cam mod. And has a variety of jets so you can dial it in for your setup. The needle has a more aggressive taper than he stock piece that shimming the stock needle cannot match.

Just called to order the dynojet kit and its backordered for the klx250s, 250sf and even the 300. Anybody know of any other DJ kits that use the same needle? He can get main jets seperately, I just need a way to get the needle. Anything from kawasaki that will work?

I used a Keihin N1TC needle (part # 160091912), 1x clamp 920371401, 1x collar 921431667 & 1x needle jet 160171368. It pulled all the way the redline with no flat spots; the power gain was unreal. I have no snorkle on the airbox cover.

However be prepared to use more fuel. I went from 145km down to 120km before having to switch to reserve. I reverted back to the stock N1RX needle with 2x shims (part # 920221003) which gave me better mileage & good power.

Hope this info helps.

Got it sorted out. Did a google search for the DNO228 needle that comes with the kit and found out its also used in the 87-2007 KLR 650 kit. And that one wasnt backordered. So I ordered it and a DN128 and DN132 main jet seperately (650 kit uses bigger jets).

Only question now is what notch to run it at, and DN128 or DN132 main? What do you guys think?
