I didnt even know they made a quiet core for this pipe, I got mine for 130 shipped off ebay, I guess it's loud, had it for about a year and now with the 351 its got a deeper thump.

Yeah DG makes 4 different quiet cores for the R & O. 1" is the smallest and they go up from there. Oh just so everybody knows. The quiet core works in both the R & O pipe. When I was looking for one. The only ones I saw was for the O. I called DG and they said it works in both.

 

I haven't seen a quite core for a DG.

 

Well they do make them cause I have one. Look on DG web site and they have them on EBay. Just put in DG quiet core and it will bring them up. That's how I found them. $26 I think they was last time I looked.

 

It only brings it down from 98 to 94 decibels for the largest insert, that's not a lot imo

 

True it doesn't seem like much. But it's the differences between a ticket or no ticket. $26 for a quiet core is a lot cheaper than a ticket. It keeps the law off my ***.

 

98 to 94 db's is a pretty big difference guys.

 

I like my exhaust to make my ears bleed when I get on it. If you don't go WFO the dg without quiet core (shifting at like 5k rpm) is very quiet

 

I'm with Matt. I got mine BECAUSE its' 98db .. and it's inexpensive.. We ride it quietly around the "hood" and let er rip everywhere else.. It's not anywhere near as bad as most of the Harleys running around town.. My kid and I love the thump coming outta that thing.. With the stock exhaust I'd have to ride with a bag over my helmet .
