The Deej Report 9/30/06
Well it was one of those days where the weather had definitely changed, and so I said to the family, "we had better go riding before it rains" So we headed up Forest Service road #29, (I know you guys don't know where that is, but it sounds cool to say, go ahead say it with me, Forest service road #29. Yea.......Oh where was I? yes we took off and headed 1 mile north of town, and it was the first time my wife had been on the highway in traffic, and she is awesome. Here are a few pictures. This is the high bridge up the "A" road as we locals call #29,
Fall leaves changing.
Family on the bridge
Spray paint memorial for a young kid that was lost in Iraq a few months ago[&:]
Leaves changing, nice color.
Close up
Heading home
Wait for me dear
Hello I'm waiting
Deej and Deej Jr. I had him wear the camelback, the pelican case was too hard to sit against.
Hollywood
Hall of moss
Stopped to take a picture of a huge woodpecker on this hemlock snag, but he flew off. From the looks of it, he's been working on this tree for a while.
Found this old water tank probably used for fire protection. Looks like they were starting to spell my name, maybe I'll head back there and finish it.
Are you guys getting sick of the pictures yet? Too bad there's more Here's one of a small water fall.
This must be like watching old slides of a family vacation, hehe here is the river.
On the way home we decided to stop and terrorize a local campground, counting us there were 3
Big old cottonwood tree. When you walk along the beach and wonder where all the logs and drift wood comes from, well this is one place.
Nice sized spruce trees, man I wish I could have just one tree for firewood. But I think the Forest Service would frown on that.
Ok almost to the highway and I stopped to take this picture, that doesn't look good, I think we had better get home.
After getting home I realized we had gone 30 miles, not bad for the wife being a new rider. Well I hope I didn't put anyone to sleep with all these pictures, but I always enjoy a ride report. Oh one more thing, when we left the house I reset the odometers to see how far we went, and when we got back her's read 29.0 and mine read 30.9

Great pics deej. Makes me miss Bellingham, wich I loveingly refer to as Green Hell. I miss the smell of fresh clean air. I don't however miss the rain. I have distant family in Sequim. Good excuse to come ride the Olympics.

Great ride report and great pics Deej. I never get tired of looking at good riding places like that. What was the temperature there. It was in the mid 90's here in TX today.

Hey Deej good job on the pictures, I went riding today and have almost the same set of pictures just 400 or so miles south of your area. You have a better set of riding pardners though.

deej,
Great pics. That's the way for a family outing.
Excuse me, it's simply the training . . . . . I love the "over the ankle footwear" y'all are wearing!
Ankles heal very, very slow!
Just lettin' ya' know I care!
