Generally whats involved with doing the valves in the front end? The valves are a given, I'm sure you get new oil, anything else?

There are plenty of threads on how to do this-it's pretty straight forward with the right tools. I didn't replace my seals because they only had a couple of k's on them-just new oil and the valve kit.

Sounds good. I was thinking some machining required beyond my very limited equipped garage.

Some of the best advice I've read here so far is to make your changes one at a time, that is great advice no matter if your jetting the carb, tweeking the suspension or adding mods as it gives you a lot of information if you pay attention to what the bike is telling you. How many times have you read a thread and the guy goes " I went up on the pilot and down on the slide, back to two rounds out, put the snorkel back in and I don't know now if I'm lean or rich", guess what we don't either.

So I compared the sag on my 3600 mile Kawi to my buddies bran new Kawi with less then 100 miles on it and it's the same. I thought for sure my bike settled out but I guess not.

What's the rule of thumb for dampening adjustment? I want to soften the rear compression so I would stiffen the rebound correct? I imagine if you allow the spring to compress more then the rebound will unwind more hence increasing the rebound adjustment...? Also is it one for one or any rule of thumb to get it close?
