Default Fork Tool--thinairflyer

Hey, I got your PM, but I couldn't locate that post with the pic of my homemade fork damper tool. And since I couldn't post a pic on the PM, here's a shot of the tool. It's an aluminum bicycle seatpost cut with a hacksaw and file to yield 4 prongs. It doesn't have to be very precise to hold the 4 recesses on the damper rod. I tried using a good air impact wrench at full power, and all my forks would do is spin the bolt and rod until I made this makeshift tool. I've used it a couple of times to do fork seals and the Gold Valves. Try an impact wrench, as it may work fine for your fork. However, I liked having the holding tool to tighten my damper rod bolts with a torque wrench.
