Has anyone bought one of these seats yet ? I removed the seat strap on mine and it made a lot of difference as I always seemed to sit on the darn thing and wasn't comfortable. I would be interested in one but would like to hear a real world report on it not a company's sales pitch.

I have. It's significantly wider, and firmer, than stock. Exactly what I was looking for. It uses the old seat-strap bolting points as the anchors, instead of the original rear-ward-most bolting points like the stock seat. I really like it, because my sit-bones are properly supported...that way, all that softer seat isn't being jammed up into your pelvic opening! The original seat width is made for very small people or people with a narrow distance between their ischial tuberosities, children, OR, not designed to be ridden for hours and hours at a time.

I MAY put a thin sheep-skin on it for additional airflow, as I sometimes ride all day long...the additional airflow is a good idea.

I haven't seen any other seats, so, I can't compare the Corbin to them. Having no other aftermarket seats experience for this bike, I'd certainly buy it again, it's that much better than the stock seat to me.

 

Will it fit an '06?

 

I'm sure the '06 model will fit the '06, but, I have the '09, and that's the only Corbin I've sat upon. I assume they are similar...but, I don't know that for a fact.

Corbin's site lists a fit for the 2009-2010 KLX250, but not for the 2006. For those guru's out there that know both...will the 2009/2010 seat fit the 2006? I see a little difference in seat style when comparing an Acerbis tank on the two different models, but are the mounting and fit differences enough to keep a 2009 seat from fitting on an '06?

 

Thet do make on for '06-07.. .I bought one from a guy on the forum. I would call Corbin. Its wider, and the '06 one has a divit for a passenger. makes double riding nicer.

I like the wider part of the Corbin but the "Firmer" part ? I road Saturday and Sunday just trying to get the new bike broke in and lets just say my arss hurts. The stock seat it very firm and feels like sitting a 4x6 after 40 miles. I only go a buck 50 and 5'9" so its not like I can compress to foam on the stock seat. The seat on my 94 KX250 is much softer.
