I just wanted to make an observation on how many comments I receive on my '09! This is my first bike (other than a couple of dirt bikes I had as a kid), so I don't know if this is normal for any motorcycle, but it seems everywhere I go someone makes it a point to tell me how nice the 250 looks. I was at the grocery store last week and I saw someone checking it out as I was walking out. Turns out he owns a DR650 and he kept going on and on about how he liked the looks, size, etc. He was very impressed that it was only a 250, and how I didn't look too big on it (I am 6'1"). He also loved the styling. Then a few minutes ago I was getting ready to leave the gas station and a guy walked by and said, "nice bike." I have only had the bike three weeks and it amazes me every time I go out someone makes it a point to talk to me about the KLX!

 

Yup,I think we all agree, Kawasaki has come up with a pretty good package with the '09 - great looks/styling, good features and a VERY competitive price compared to XT, DR etc.
Don't know what it's like in the states, but I guess the above reasons are why most dealers over here are struggling to keep up with the demand (ps - we only have the green ones, thank god!)

only have the green ones grrrrr...LOL... The red is growing on me and yes I as well get a few compliments here and there... But first everyone says thats a nice Honda.. DOH!!! lol,, if one more person tells me I have a nice lookin honda im going to scream lmao.. but its the thought that counts

 

Yeah, the 09 is a looker and by most accounts an improvement over 06/07. I think that's why I'm about order a KLX450R headlight assy for my 06 D-tracker..it looks a lot like the 09 KLX headlight and is easily adaptable to the 06/07 D-tracker/KLX...something about that shape!

Kawasaki green? I'm glad you like it...ribbit...ribbit. I like Kawi's, but I just can't warm-up to the tree frog color.

 

I think most folks associate the color red with Honda. . . get it? In the same way that most folks associate green with Kawasaki. And, tremor38, I too loathe Kawasaki green. Go to www.climbingschool.com/Kawasaki_250s.html for a color change that looks fantastic! Shred them tires!

 

Green = Kawi, Red = Honda. Its a sterotypicaly thing.

As for the KLX growing in popluation. Yes, this is very true. Before, I was the only green KLX250 rider in my area. Just within this past month, I have seen a green and red 09' KLX driving around in my area. I already know one of the forum members drive around the Norman, OK. I usually drive around Tinker AFB and south OKC.
