Default Clutch issue?

So its been raining so hard around here and snow that my bike sat in the garage for a month or more. Finally on Friday I got to go for a short 10 mile ride around town and out on the highway a bit. I did notice something weird. When I came to a stop, my bike was still trying to go forward slightly, and when I stopped to look at things I discovered that my clutch lever had about an inch of play and so it wasn't pulling in far enough to completely disengage the clutch. So I adjusted it and took out the slack and that seemed to fix it. But my question is what happened? Did the cable get sticky somewhere? Are my plated getting tired? Are the springs causing me problems?

Also it took a long time for the bike to settle down into a good idle. It was really low for a while, so I cranked it up and it would keep dropping off, so I finally got it to stay at one spot. Any thoughts on either issue?

For the idle, fresh gas..

For the clutch, Idunno..... Adjust and keep an eye on it.

Check the ends of the cable. It may be ready to break.

If it was below freezing ice even if it can't be seen could mess with your clutch. It could be inside the cable itself. And it sounds like your jets were about to clog from sitting as with the gas these days it don't take long.
