Default CHECK YOUR VALVE STEMS

had a blast on Saturday Im still hurting from climbing the six foot Cliff's was good meeting Craig and the other klxers, Hear is how Sunday went, left the house at 6am, 1-1/2 drive got the bike ready all set to go got my new nee and elbow pads have the helmet cam on good to go. Craig and I left 9/10 of a mile in on a 90 mile rideFLAT!!!!!!!!!! The spoke strip is out its a bad one fix a flat no good rode back dodging dirt bikes.

THE FINAL REPORT TO THE CAUSE OF THE FLAT. When we checked the tire pressure before we left . When I got home I took the valve stem out and i could blow air pass the valve with my mouth. I got the stem valve tool out andturned it an 1/8 of a turn rechecked no air passing, The valve stem needle must have been loose and when i checked the pressure it must of backed out and gave me a slow leek.

So I'm telling you I learned something

The part of this story that is really amazing to me is that you bent down and tried to blow the tire up with your mouth, the thought of doing that would have never crossed my mind.

Two words: rim locks

...and a few more: MSR Ultra Heavy Duty Tubes

Also don't tighten down the nut on the valve stem to the rim -- it needs some wiggle room.

after adam left i hooked up with a group and one of them got a flat later in the day. he had rimlocks and aheavy duty tube. they work fine but they won't stop all flats. if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen!!

I wish those mousse things weren't so darn expensive. Looks like a good idea for off-road - flat proof, but you could buy a whole new wheel for the price of those things and they wear out, too, making them even more expensive. Tire ***** are another idea, but they are also very expensive. I hate changing flats, so I'd be willing to spend a little money to make my tires flat proof, but not that much.

i think those tire ***** are $150 a wheel. a friend of mine has had them on one of his bikes for 3 years now.
