I run a 14/45 with 520/108 link chain...no links needed removed and left plenty of room for slack adjustment down the road.

btw....stock is 14/42 with a 520/106

If you just get a long chain it is easy to remove links if you have a dremel and a punch. I got a 120 link and cut it to size it took about 5 minutes to do the job and I didn't have to worry about getting the right size for my particular sprocket set up.

That would be about right as the 13 / 45 uses 108 links and stock is 14 / 42 with 106 links

I just went from a 14/45 108 link to a 14/48 110 link. Chain adjusters are on 6.5. Just took it up and down the block tonight, but the front end comes up alot easier than the 14/45 setup. Can't wait to get it out on the trails.

So is this true. With a new chain and 13x45/106 I will NOT be able to get sufficient chainslack.

Why are people going with a 13 tooth sprocket there is not enough clearance to the engine case

14T / 48T is probley the best for off road riding

What clearance are you talking about? I don’t recall seeing any clearance issues with my set-up when I installed the 13t. I will definitely look again though.

So once you go to 14/48, how much of your top end speed do you lose? And doesn't this translate into alot of shifting especially on the trails?
