Default Chain question

I want to take off the chain to give it a good cleaning. Is there a special tool to use in removing the clip on the master link. It's been about 20 years since I did this, and as I remember we just used a screwdriver to pop it off, but it was a pita. Thanks for the help

I took mine off the other day to change the tire, and all I did was to find a large flat screwdriver and put it flat side in front of the open part of the master link and tap it and it comes right out. Don't loose the O-Rings, and remember it takes some squeezing to get the thing back on since you have to slightly compress the loose O-Rings again.

On my atv I did the same thing to get it off but be forewarned, when I did it the clip took off like a rocket, thankfully I had draped a towel just in case of such an event and I found it but man it freaked me out.
