Default chain guard removal question?

once I take off the chain guard, what's the best way to remove the brackets? I assume just cut them off with a dremal and touch up the paint??? Also reguarding the chain, what's best to use to lubricate it? The sae 90w oil slings all over the place and makes a mess. anything better?
Thanks

Steve,

Chainwax works well and doesn't fling as much as some other brands. You can buy it at any motorcycle shop.

Speaking of the chain guard..how many of us are removing it? I just did. I decided it looked a little [sm=lame.gif]. Also took off the helmet lock..never used it and never will.

I'm leaving my guard on, but only for looks, and the helmet lock?.....not sure. Hey I ordered new Kenda tires today from AMT , and got an e-mail back within the hour that said one of the tubes were back ordered, and so the order was cancelled unless they heard back from me with a reply to an e-mail that I wanted to wait, While I'm disappointed that I have to wait a week extra I am really impressed as to the communication and customer service, it's all good from where I'm sitting. I sent a nice e-mail back thanking them figuring they probably get a lot of rude responses and I thought I would send them a nice one. I can wait, I mean it's not like I tore the tires off and was waiting for the new ones, otherwise it could have gotten ugly. LOL

What Kenda's are you getting Deej? Congrats on sending a nice email[sm=smiley32.gif]. It's kind of hard to be nice with all of the bad service going around these days.

Lame or not, I'll take anything between my tender parts and the flying bits of a broken chain. As for the helmet lock, I use mine all the time. It's not going to stop a determined thief but it keeps the honest people honest.

I'm keeping my chain guard on. It doesn't bother me.
