Default Carborator options?

I'm tossing around the idea of replacing the stock carb on my '09. I'm starting not to like the feel of this CV carb on a dirtbike. It does meter fuel right but it feels like it has a little bit of lag when I want to clear the tire and rip it up some. I've done the DJ kit with a new pilot jet, KDX snorkel, and an FMF pipe. The carb is nice for street riding but in the woods I kinda am getting sick of it. My friend's CRF230 has just a plain, simple carb and that bike has a lot more snap than mine does. Any ideas?

For you to get that instant response you're looking for you will need to go w/ a pumper carb. Most go with these after they increase displacement, but you could probably get by with the Bill Blue carb, seems like it's a TM-34.

I "may" have one for sale soon. Just got my BB TM-33/34 on my bike along with the BB351 kit. Now I am having second thoughts about getting a bigger carb but haven't fully jumped the fence....yet.

If you're selling it, let me know. There's not a lot of room in that area. What did you have to do to get it to fit? I'm assuming I'll need new throttle cables? Anyone have a link to Bill Blue's website?

Yup, that's it. Bill sets it up so it's total plug and play. The only thing is it only uses the pull cable and not the push one, but I just put a baggie over the push cable and taped it out of the way and did not remove as Bill suggests.

Uses stock pull cable and is easy to fit.
Its tight but mine bolted up without much hassle.

Its a good mod IMO.
Definitely helped.
Hard to define just how much the carb alone added to performance as it's 1 of a number of mods I've done.
Happy with the whole package.

I also have the 1/4 turn throttle and together with the carb it makes the twist a bit too heavy IMO.
OK in the dirt but too much for steady road use.

Since the choke is in a different position, can we use an after market gas tank with this carb?

Carbs from other bikes. I was just wondering about carbs form other bikes. I know of a group of guys who allows build and play with dirtbikes and they have more junk laying around from this that and the other does anyone know what model carb from other bikes would fit a klx would say a carb from a 2005 honda 450 fit?

just wondering.

40mm fcr from a 450 would be an even tighter fit, and be a little too much for a 250 IMO
