When taking the carb off the bike, don't mess with the TPS itself. Unplug it only at the connector. There's something in the shop manual about needing to have the TPS adjusted by a shop if it's taken off the carb. While you've got the carb off, add new vent lines that go up under the seat/tank area. One of the KLX forums had pics for this topic but I can't remember which one. Keep the original vent lines that hang down, but put plastic y-connectors in the vent line and run new lines up. With vent lines up under the tank or seat, you won't have any problems with the bike drowning out at water crossings. Last Spring's heavy rains caused some major flooding across roads for the Hanging Rock 200. One flooded road section was about 1/4 mi. long and 18-24" deep in spots and there wasn't a bypass for this section. Needless to say, a few bikes didn't make it all the way before sputtering to a stop. Luckily I had taken care of venting the carb and kept the snorkel on the airbox.
