Default Carb mod

How much will the fuel mileage drop with the Carb mod of boreing out, etc ?

How much more horsepower and speed?

Tx

norsseman,

I don't really think there has been any real noticible reduction due to the rejetting of the carb. Most of it is due simply to the fact that we now are running the throttle wide open as it is a lot more fun!

At most, I would say 1 or 2 mpg. However there are some that the mileage actually has gone up! How is that possible? Simply due to the fact that in normal use the throttle is not opened as wide as it was to get the bike moving! That does make a difference.

You also asked about "boring". Are you talking about adding the "big bore kit" that is the KLX300R cylinder, piston and associated parts?

Hope this helps.

I just put in my 125 main and the needle on the 3rd notch full big gun system with the quiet core removed and the sparkarrester in. Runs fine no dead spots. It pops alittle on decell but im still running the #35 pilot jet.I keep getting the wrong jets. I will install the #40 soon.

I just did the carb mods yesterday-KDX snorkle, #125 main jet, stock pilot jet(got the 40, but it was the wrong one), drilled the crank case vent, backed out the fuel mixture screw 2 turns from the bottom, used the stock needle with the .032 spacer(i have a N1TC, but still haven't received the collar, and I just couldn't wait any longer). The bike runs great with the #125 main jet. I don't even get any decel popping. This is also with the Muzzy.
